For Hope. For Strength. For Life.
Everyday group activities cover the wonders of Florence, from private tours of the famous Uffizi galleries to artisanal shoe and jewelry making demonstrations. Touch, taste, and feel all that Italy has to offer with your closest sisters and new friends from Delta Gamma chapters all over North America.
During weekend trips you will explore the many gems of the Italian peninsula, including Rome, Venice, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Cinque Terre, and more! See the Roman Colosseum, climb the Duomo of Siena, stroll over the Rialto Bridge in Venice, bike over the 16th century walls of Lucca, snap your favorite Leaning Tower picture, and try every Italian delicacy you can imagine.
There is so much to look forward to as Select Study Abroad includes more travel and activities than any other program.
Enroll in one or two academic courses worth 3 college credits each at the prestigious Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence or the credit-free Italian Ambassador Program. All college credit courses are taught in English with the exception of Italian language courses. The Italian Ambassador Program involves on-site learning and activities lead by the expert Select Study Abroad team. From Art History to Religious Studies and from Fashion to Italian Cooking, immerse yourself in the amazing culture happening right before your eyes.
Just wait. It gets better…
You and your sisters will make Florence your home away from home. Located in the heart of the historical center of the city, your residence and school are just steps away from the vibrant summer life that Italians have become famous for. Wander through the San Lorenzo market, catch a parade outside the Cathedral, or grab a caffé with your sisters in Piazza Signoria. Everything the city has to offer is easily within reach.
Taking the Delta Gamma cause abroad.
The program will also feature visits to and volunteer opportunities at local organizations that focus on supporting the blind and visually impaired, Delta Gamma’s national philanthropic mission. Select Study Abroad students will engage in volunteer projects that give back to the city that gives us all so much.

“No words can accurately express the incredible experience I had in Italy. Delta Gamma is a huge part of my life, but the opportunity to go abroad with sisters was something I just couldn’t pass up. I’ll admit, I was scared to go abroad for the first time alone, but as soon as I walked in the doors of our residence, the love I received gave me the comfort in knowing these are the people I want to be abroad with. I am beyond grateful for the Select staff and their willingness to give of their hearts and immerse us in the culture of Italy. Their constant energy, kindness, and enthusiasm to share their love for Italy was inspiring to everyone in our group. They opened my eyes to see the beauty in every street corner and the culture within each place we visited. Taking adventures has always been a passion of mine, but adventuring through Italy was indescribable, especially with Carrie, Kellin, Hannah, and Sean by our side. We visited so many wonderful places and ate some incredible food. I still dream about it daily! I am truly blessed to have found Select Study Abroad and I am grateful to have incorporated it into my Delta Gamma experience. I can now say I dropped my anchor in Italy and a piece of my heart remains in Florence. Though there’s “no place like home” for a Kansas girl like me, Florence became another home to me and I cannot wait to return.
