Florence & Tuscany Itinerary:
Each day of the Florence & Tuscany Mother & Daughter trip will focus on a different aspect of Italian culture to discover together. These themed days feature educational activities, guided tours, tastings and demonstrations, mouth-watering meals, and a hands-on cooking class. While Florence will be our home base for the entirety of the trip, we will spend two days outside its walls exploring other cities in Tuscany.
A Florentine Welcome: After your arrival, meet the rest of the mothers and daughters, as well as your Florence guide and get the inside scoop on many of the main sights right around the corner from where you’re staying. Afterwards, enjoy a welcome dinner together.
Artisan Florence: Spend the day exploring the studios and ateliers of Florence’s talented artisans. Learn about leather making at one of the city’s largest leather schools, housed behind the magnificent basilica of Santa Croce. Watch the age-old art of paper marbling and book making and see the still cherished practice of jewelry making with the city’s most talented artists.
Tuscan Perfection: Head out to the city of Arezzo where famous films such as Life is Beautiful and The English Patient were filmed. Enjoy lunch in this quaint town followed by a visit to a stunningly frescoed chapel in the church of San Francesco before we head to Pienza. In Pienza, witness the elegance and harmony of an ideal Renaissance city while also sampling some of Tuscany’s best cheeses. Then enjoy a group dinner, all while soaking up the famously beautiful Val d’Orcia landscape.
Michelangelo and the Renaissance: What’s a visit to Florence without stopping to pay homage to the one and only Michelangelo? Spend today learning about the amazing range of the artist’s work and that of his contemporaries with visits to the famous sculpture museum, the Bargello, the New Sacristy, the Laurentian Library, and finally, the David. We dare you not to be in awe.
Florence Fashionista: Learn more about what Italians do best (other than food, art, and love) – fashion. Begin with a visit to the Costume Gallery at the Pitti Palace and delight in their contemporary and historical clothes and accessories. Then, take a closer look at Italian craftsmanship with a special demonstration by a luxury handbag designer. Head to the newly redone Gucci Museum and end the day with drinks at a hip rooftop terrazza overlooking Florence.
Vino and Vistas: Take a trip outside Florence’s walls for a taste of the culinary traditions of the region. Leave in the late morning for the breathtaking city of Siena. Enjoy the excellent shopping and the show-stopping Cathedral. Afterwards, head out into Chianti to the stunning Castello di Verrazzano for an extravagant wine tasting paired with a four-course dinner. Learn all about the tastes that makes Tuscan cuisine so loved while enjoying the region’s famous Chianti wines.
Buon Appetito!: Top the trip off with a final cooking class to recreate some of the wonderful flavors you have experienced in the last few days. Learn about the proper techniques and ingredients used by Italian chefs to make dishes that will allow you to take Italy with you, wherever you go. Then, join us for our farewell meal.

Frequently asked questions:
I can’t travel with my mom/daughter. Does that mean I can’t come?
Of course not! We know there are lots of different forms of “mother” and “daughter” relationships and we welcome them all. We have had granddaughters and grandmothers, stepmoms and stepdaughters, aunts and nieces, surrogate moms, and even sisters traveling in honor of their mom. What we prize are these strong female relationships and women traveling and growing together.
My sister (or another family member) wants to come, too. Can three people come together?
Of course she can come! We’ve had many moms with two daughters join us before and are happy to accommodate a triple room. Prices listed are per person.
What are your affiliate sororities?
We work with Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Kappa, and Tri Sigma.
My mom and/or daughter is not part of a sorority, can we still attend?
Yes! Only one of you has to be a current member or alumnae to attend!
I am affiliated with a different sorority, can I still join this trip?
We are currently working with the above-mentioned sororities, but our network is always growing. Apply as “other” and we’ll contact you directly.
