Everything you need to know about grades, college credits, and transcripts

tudents enroll in one or two academic courses worth 3 credits each, which are based on the semester scale. Courses are held Monday through Thursday at the Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence. Creative arts non-credit courses are also available once a week, including Wine and Culture and The Food of Italy. Students’ home universities typically accept the credit conferred by our college-level courses. Select Study Abroad strongly recommends that students speak with their academic advisor or registrar about courses taken abroad. We are glad to guide students through the course approval process and can provide a tentative syllabus for specific courses.

The Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence is a well-established and renowned Italian

university that is widely recognized and respected in the United States. Upon successful completion of their courses, students will receive an official transcript from the Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici in English with letter grades. Students will also have the option to have these credits conferred by Marist College to receive an American transcript for an additional cost. Marist College is the American school of record for the Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici.

Students who elect to receive the optional transcript from Marist will also receive the following: official Marist College student ID number, Marist College email address, and full access to the online libraries and databases of Marist College. All students will receive a certificate of completion from Select Study Abroad.
