What's included in that cost?
The Select Study Abroad program cost includes the following:
• Tuition for one or two college-level courses
• Breakfast daily
• Dinner Monday, Wednesday, Friday
• Travel to Pisa, Lucca, Rome, Siena, Chianti, Cinque Terre, and Venice (including hotel accommodations, transportation, and all activities/museum entrances in those locations)
• Daily site visits and activities
• Health insurance
• Pre-departure guides
• 24-hour on-site leadership and availability of the Select Study Abroad staff.

There is no official deadline. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Applying early is strongly encouraged to be guaranteed a space in the program and to receive priority registration to enroll in your preferred courses.
The application process through our website is super easy! Submit your basic information, including a mailing address and contact details on our application
page and you’re done with Step 1! You will then receive an email from the Select Study Abroad team about step 2, submitting an official transcript. Once this is sent from your home university to Select Study Abroad you're done with Step 2 and your application is complete! Once your application has been completed, your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted by Select Study Abroad directly about getting enrolled for classes, picking roommates etc. It's really that easy!
Once your application is complete (see above for more information), your materials will be reviewed by Select Study Abroad staff. You will receive a phone call and email from one of our Directors to let you know about the next steps in the process or to discuss options if there are any problems with your application.
The grade point average required to qualify is 2.8. If you have a lower average your application will still be considered upon submission of two letters of recommendation and a personal essay. No, there is no language requirement and Italian courses are optional. All courses are taught in English with the exception of the Italian language courses. You can choose from an incredibly wide variety of subjects in both upper and lower division levels.

Most universities offer financial aid to study abroad. If a student currently receives financial aid, they should be able to also receive financial aid during the summer. Students should check with their home university's Financial Aid or Registrar's office for details on how to apply. Additional financial assistance is available to students in the form of scholarships and other awards. We encourage students to be proactive and apply early. Refer to our section on Scholarships & Aid

The program cost may be paid by check or credit card. An extra fee will apply for payments made by credit card. A personalized payment plan can also be arranged for interested participants. For more information please contact us
We recommend all students to speak with their academic advisor and major department about their decision to study abroad. There may be required forms to complete prior to studying abroad, especially if you are interested in receiving credit for a course in your major or minor.

Yes. Our past students are eager to answer your questions and tell you everything you want to know about the Select Study Abroad experience. We can provide you with their phone numbers and/or email addresses. If your parents would like to speak with a parent of a past student we can provide them with contact information as well.
Students have come from all over the U.S. and from many different universities to study abroad with us. Many of their universities do not have independent Italian study abroad campuses or their strict course load does not allow them to take an entire semester to study abroad. We have also hosted students whose schools do host a program in Florence, but they have opted to join our program instead. Most importantly, many of our students come independently without friends, but leave the program with lifelong friendships.
Surveys have shown time and time again that studying abroad gives you a distinct edge over the competition. Students who have spent meaningful time living and learning in another country are perceived to be more independent, mature, culturally sensitive, and ambitious than students who have not studied abroad. Studying abroad not only makes you more marketable when entering the workforce or when applying to graduate school, it can also have a tremendous impact on your life while still in college. By studying abroad during the summer, for example, you can earn course credits that could lead to early graduation or help to complete that second major or minor. Above all, the personal advantages are the most powerful. Your time abroad will give you an appreciation for your field of study, your host country, and your home country in a way that no other experience can really claim. I can’t travel with my mom/daughter. Does that mean I can’t come?
Of course not! We know there are lots of different forms of “mother” and “daughter” relationships and we welcome them all. We have had granddaughters and grandmothers, stepmoms and stepdaughters, aunts and nieces, surrogate moms, and even sisters traveling in honor of their mom. What we prize are these strong female relationships and women traveling and growing together.
My sister (or another family member) wants to come, too. Can three people come together?
Of course she can come! We’ve had many moms with two daughters join us before and are happy to accommodate a triple room. Prices listed are per person.
What are your affiliate sororities?
We work with Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Sigma Kappa, and Delta Gamma.
My mom and/or daughter is not part of a sorority, can we still attend?
Yes! Only one of you has to be a current member or alumnae to attend!
I am affiliated with a different sorority, can I still join this trip?
We are currently working with the above-mentioned sororities, but our network is always growing. Apply as “other” and we’ll contact you directly.
What are the trips and how much do they cost?
2019 Dates & Prices:
Florence & Tuscany Sunday, June 9th, 2019 – Sunday, June 16th, 2019 $2,800 per person
Naples, Amalfi, and Capri Sunday, June 30th, 2019 – Saturday, July 6th, 2019 $3,200 per person
Florence & Italian Riviera Sunday, July 14th, 2019 – Sunday, July 21st, 2019 $3,100 per person
What is included in the cost of the trip?
Included in the cost of all our trips:
• Hotel accommodations
• Onsite trip organizers available 24/7
• Expert guides for onsite activities
• All activities, excursions, and visits included in itinerary
• All transportation within Italy, unless otherwise noted
• Hotel buffet breakfast daily
• 4 incredible meals, including special welcome and farewell dinners
What is not included in the cost of all our trips:
• Cost does not include airfare to/from Italy
• Cost does not include transfers to/from airport
How do I apply?

To complete your full application, the following will ultimately be required:
• General information: your full name (as it appears on your passport), date of birth, home address, and other personal details
• A passport valid for at least six months after the completion of your trip
• Passport information, including passport number and expiration date
• A non-refundable deposit of $750 per person. (Please note: deposits are applied toward the total cost of the trip.)
Full payment is due by May 1st, 2019 for all trips. If payment is not received by this due date, your place cannot be guaranteed on the trip and you forfeit your deposit.
A Note About Costs
Trip costs are based upon current currency exchange rates and on the basis of a minimum number of participants. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices, they are subject to change. In the extreme event that actual enrollments fall significantly below minimum numbers, a surcharge may be added. Similarly, in the event that currency exchange rates change to an unusual and extreme extent, a surcharge may be added to your trip. Details and costs will be advised prior to departure.
