Select Study Abroad was literally the best experience of my life. I never anticipated how much fun I’d have and it exceeded every single one of my expectations.
A.M., Barnard College
Select Study Abroad was better than I could have ever hoped for and the way that studying abroad should be done!
V.W., Western Oregon University
Thank you for such an incredible experience. It was both culturally and historically rich with facts and memories that I will take with me for a lifetime. No souvenir, picture, or story will do it justice.
D.M., Quinnipiac University
You really did design the study abroad experience people can only dream of.
J.H., Columbia University
There are not sufficient words in the English dictionary to describe this experience. I will value and treasure it for the rest of my life.
J.T., Oberlin College
Select Study Abroad helped shape me into a better person. I have grown more than I ever expected. I have learned to embrace new experiences, people and quite honestly, food. I wanted you to know just how much you all have impacted my life.
K.D., Quinnipiac University
This trip has taught me life lessons on top of endless art history information. I could not have had a better experience and seen so much in one month.
B.P, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
If I could change one thing about Select Study Abroad it would be…NOTHING. Perfect. I would recommend it to every person I know.
D.M., Quinnipiac University
My class on Hidden Symbolism in Renaissance Art was incredibly enjoyable. I learned a lot about paintings I knew before and paintings I had never heard of before. I am glad I took it. I felt very comfortable in my class.
I.V.I, Hampshire College
The Food of Italy class was insanely awesome! Marco is the sweetest person and an amazing teacher because of his managerial skills and his knowledge of food. Marco was awesome in every possible way.
R.C., Oberlin College
The resources at LdM were extremely accessible and well-organized. I took advantage of the computer lab because I didn’t bring my laptop and I was able to accomplish everything I needed to.
B.P., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
I really enjoyed the Italian class and it was great to learn something new and then be able to go out and practice speaking the language everyday. Our Italian teacher was great and really patient with us.
V.W., Western Oregon University
My teacher for the Introduction to Fashion Illustration had worked in the fashion industry for many years and she was SO smart.
M.C., Providence College
My classes were very interesting. The professors were very well-versed in their subjects and entertaining!

The facilities and resources at LdM were awesome. I loved the sweet little courtyard in the Fashion Design building.
J.H., Columbia University
I used the Design Rooms and Painting Studio. Both were really quality facilities that allowed me to work diligently.
D.M., Quinnipiac University
My favorite activities were the bike rides in Lucca, the Uffizi in Florence, the Borghese Museum in Rome, the gondola ride in Venice, the David, the wine-tasting in Chianti, the perfume shop, and the duomo climb. My least favorite was…nothing.
I.V.I., Hampshire College
The activities were awesome because I did not know anything about Florence before coming, so the fact that they suggested everything and let us choose was awesome. My favorites were the Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace, and the duomo climb.
R.C., Oberlin College
I loved all of organized activities in Florence. I never missed one.
J.H., Columbia University
The organized activities were awesome. I got to see so much more of Florence than anyone else and had GREAT tour guides, as well.
K.D., Quinnipiac University
My favorite weekend activity was the Borghese Museum in Rome. I never thought that I’d see Bernini’s work in person. The site of his works brought me to tears and I feel extremely fortunate.
B.P., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Two thumbs up! Everything was so well-planned and thought out. I never felt unsure about anything and always felt safe and in good hands.

The bike ride in Lucca was divine! It was just a perfect day.
J.T., Oberlin College
The trip to Rome was priceless – we packed so many famous, special, unique, and breathtaking sights into one weekend!
J.H., Columbia University
Every dinner was great; each better than the one before. It always gave me something to look forward to and allowed me to expand my horizons of Italian food. Also, it was nice to go to less touristy places that I normally wouldn’t find on my own.
D.M., Quinnipiac University
Food in Italy is out of this world amazing and it is so fresh. I don’t know what I’m going to eat when I get back to the States. Davide’s restaurant is so delicious. I also like that he got to be creative and serve us dishes we couldn’t order on the menu.
B.P., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Basically, all of the group dinners = awesome
J.H., Columbia University

I.V.I, Hampshire College
The dinners in Florence were absolutely scrumptious. I love traveling in the LEAST touristy way possible, so I definitely appreciated the locals-only restaurants that we frequented.
J.H., Columbia University
The accommodations at the Hotel Croce di Malta are tremendous, with beautiful rooms and a friendly staff. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Florence. It made me smile everyday to see the care they put into treating their guests, to have someone that nice to ask how your day was, and to be so helpful.
J.T., Oberlin College
The Hotel Croce di Malta is absolutely stupendous. Coming home to comfy beds, air conditioning, a pool, and an incredibly kind staff? What could be better?
J.H., Columbia University
The hotel accommodations were BEAUTIFUL!! I loved it. Breakfast was great every morning and the facility was gorgeous.
D.M., Quinnipiac University

As the parent of a student who went to Florence last summer with Select Study Abroad, I could not be more pleased with this program. The organizers have designed an in depth exploration of all things Italian – the type of program they wished had existed for themselves when they were students. My daughter loved every day of it.
They have put in such attention to detail that a student becomes an insider immediately, taking advantage of every day to experience as much as possible. Always on site, the organizers, who are trained in art history, convey their knowledge and enthusiasm at every turn. My daughter came home eager to advance her Italian and to study art history.
The home base of Florence was such a beautiful place to live and learn. The classes at Lorenzo de’Medici were excellent, and going to class gave structure and purpose to the work week. The living accommodations were of high quality and there was good attention to safety. We got reports of one incredible meal after another, and tastings of gelato, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, cheese, wine, sweets and coffee. It was total immersion in Italian life and culture – art, performances, weekend trips, day trips, fashion, food, markets, and evenings on the rooftop with Firenze at their feet.
I feel that this program offers excellent value and really delivers what it promises, as ambitious as it seems when you look at the schedule. It is put together by people with a passion for sharing their love of travel abroad and the students are the lucky beneficiaries of their experience and expertise.
E.H., parent of a Columbia University student
