Select Study Abroad is proud to announce two summer study abroad sessions in Florence, Italy and three Mother and Daughter Trips for members of the Sigma Kappa sorority. The bond you share will only grow stronger while traveling together. Expand your world and your sisterhood!
Live With Heart.
Everyday group activities cover the wonders of Florence, from private tours of the famous Uffizi galleries to artisanal shoe and jewelry making demonstrations. Touch, taste, and feel all that Italy has to offer with your closest sisters and new friends from Sigma Kappa chapters all over North America.
During weekend trips you will explore the many gems of the Italian peninsula, including Rome, Venice, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Cinque Terre, and more! See the Roman Colosseum, climb the Duomo of Siena, stroll over the Rialto Bridge in Venice, bike over the 16th century walls of Lucca, snap your favorite Leaning Tower picture, and try every Italian delicacy you can imagine.
There is so much to look forward to as Select Study Abroad includes more travel and activities than any other program.
Enroll in one or two academic courses worth 3 college credits each at the prestigious Istituto Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence or the credit-free Italian Ambassador Program. All college credit courses are taught in English with the exception of Italian language courses. The Italian Ambassador Program involves on-site learning and activities lead by the expert Select Study Abroad team. From Art History to Religious Studies and from Fashion to Italian Cooking, immerse yourself in the amazing culture happening right before your eyes.
Just wait. It gets better…
You and your sisters will make Florence your home away from home. Located in the heart of the historical center of the city, your residence and school are just steps away from the vibrant summer life that Italians have become famous for. Wander through the San Lorenzo market, catch a parade outside the Cathedral, or grab a caffé with your sisters in Piazza Signoria. Everything the city has to offer is easily within reach.
Taking the Sigma Kappa cause abroad.
The program will also feature visits to and volunteer opportunities at local organizations that focus on gerontology and environmental awareness. Select Study Abroad students will engage in volunteer projects that give back to the city that gives us all so much.

“Going through sorority recruitment three years ago, I never thought that Sigma Kappa would give me the opportunity to travel abroad with my sisters. Florence is a magical city, where you can wander around and get lost, but not feel lost at all. Carrie, Kellin, Sean and Hannah know Florence and all the other amazing places you will visit like the back of their hands. They take you to the hidden gems of Italy, including my favorite, Montefioralle, which is a magical village in Tuscany that is truly breathtaking. They know exactly where to point you when searching for that perfect gelato (Edoardo, in case anyone was wondering) or if you are just trying to find your way back home. Being surrounded by so much history, art, and culture and having incredibly knowledgeable people to answer every question you may have makes this program unlike any other. This is truly a trip that I will never forget, along with all of the amazing individuals and life-long friends that I met through Select Study Abroad. Carrie, Kellin, Sean and Hannah always say that Florence somehow gives you a reason to come back, and I cannot wait to see how this amazing city pulls me back in.
